ORAM’s Mission is to Advocate for

Refugees Fleeing Sexual or Gender Based Violence

ORAM provides clients with free legal counseling and assistance, including representation at UNHCR proceedings. We assist refugees through their passage to safety, often until they are permanently resettled in new countries.

ORAM is leading an international campaign to include sexual and gender-based refugee issues in the broader human rights agenda. Our advocacy encompasses governments, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, and communities.

Governments and institutions enlightened about the plight of refugees often enact more humane policies. ORAM continually makes presentations, produces reports and delivers academic lectures on the crushing burdens LGBTI refugees face.
